Industrial Zones are special areas designed to enhance the global competitiveness of the national economy, facilitate technology transfer, increase production and employment, accelerate international capital flows, and create industrial areas suitable for large-scale investments, particularly in terms of production costs. Industrial Zones, which offer the most suitable investment environment for large-scale and integrated investments, have become increasingly attractive to investors and regional governments due to the streamlined bureaucratic processes they offer. There are four Industrial Zones located in different regions of Bursa province.

 Gemlik Special Industrial Zone

The Gemlik Special Industrial Zone was established on land owned by Gübre Sanayi A.Ş. in the Gemlik district. In accordance with Article 4/Ç of the Law No. 4033 on Amendments to the Law on Industrial Zones and Organized Industrial Zones, which regulates Special Industrial Zones, site selection studies were quickly completed, and the establishment decree was published in the Official Gazette No. 30908 dated October 4, 2019.

The zone currently produces ammonia, nitric acid, and fertilizer.

Asilçelik Special Industrial Zone

Established by Presidential Decree No. 1040 and published in the Official Gazette No. 30770 dated May 10, 2019, the Asilçelik Industry and Trade Joint Stock Company Bursa Special Industrial Zone is the industrial zone.

The industrial zone is located in the Gemiç and Karsak neighborhoods of the Orhangazi district, in the Göçbey, Çeyle, Bekirsırtı, Göçmen, and Göçbeyler areas, and covers an area of ​​43 hectares.

Currently, the region produces high-quality steel products in vacuum-formed and finished round, square, hexagonal, flat, and platina shapes, required by sectors such as automotive, machinery manufacturing, and energy, in accordance with customer requirements and international standards.

Döktaş Special Industrial Zone

In accordance with Article 4/C of Law No. 4737 on Amending the Law on Industrial Zones and Organized Industrial Zones, which regulates Special Industrial Zones, site selection studies were completed rapidly, and the establishment decision was published in the Official Gazette No. 31855 dated June 3, 2022.

Döktaş, Europe's 5th largest casting facility, operates as a major supplier to the automotive, heavy commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, and machinery manufacturing sectors. Its Bursa Orhangazi iron casting facility, which manufactures gray and ductile iron castings and machined parts, has an annual production capacity of 150,000 tons.

Varaka Kağıt Special Industrial Zone

In accordance with Article 4/C of Law No. 4737 on Amending the Law on Industrial Zones and Organized Industrial Zones, which regulates Special Industrial Zones, site selection studies were completed rapidly, and the establishment decision was published in the Official Gazette No. 32634 dated August 16, 2024. The high-tech corrugated cardboard and cardboard box factory, to be built on a 25.24-hectare site, will employ 750 people during the production phase.

The planned annual production capacity is 56,160 tons of corrugated cardboard and 40,560 tons of cardboard boxes.
