SOUTH KOREAN SOCIAL MEDIA PHENOMENONS ADMIRED BURSA

Under the coordination of Bursa Governorship, South Korean social media phenomenons were hosted in Bursa for a touristic visit which was organized by Bursa Eskisehir Bilecik Development Agency (BEBKA) in cooperation with Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB) Regional Board of Agents of South Marmara and Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Association.

The South Korean influencers visited Ulu Mosque, Ulu Mountain, Panorama 1326 History Museum, the Hans Area, Golyazi which is regarded among the 30 must-see places in the world, 700-year-old Cumalikizik village which is in the UNESCO World Heritage List, Iznik which is expected to enter to the said list and other natural and historical areas in Bursa. Additionally they tried paragliding, went boating, watched mounted archery performance, rode horses and experienced some tracks in the adventure park. So that they also discovered the fun side of the city.

Alinur Aktas, Mayor of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, came together with the South Korean social media phenomenons and bloggers at a dinner. He made a speech and gave information about Bursa’s historical, cultural and economic structure. The Mayor said that each country has different relationships with each other, but Turkey and South Korea relations are special. The Mayor Aktas continued his words as follows: “Even though the two countries were not very close, our ancestors sent troops to fight for the independence of South Korea and gave many martyrs during that time. I believe that the process initiated by the Ambassador of Seoul and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea who met in Bursa in July for the organization of BEBKA will strengthen the relationship between our countries and cities. ”

South Korean influencers who have seen various places in Bursa as part of the promotion event that was organized to activate the tourism potential of the region, commented that they are pleased with the organization and would introduce Bursa in the best way in their countries. Following the visits in which the culture, history, nature and culinary delights of the city were explained and all the beauties of Bursa were showed, South Korean influencers gave full marks to Bursa, which is on its way to becoming a brand city in world tourism.

Mr. Ismail Gerim, Secretary General of BEBKA, made a statement and said that tourism activities targeting South Korea will continue in cooperation with the stakeholders in the region and a new promotion organization will be organized for South Korean travel agencies in the coming months.
