The Second R&D Innovation Summit and Expo that has been organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Industry and Technology took place on 6-7th September 2017 in İstanbul Lütfi Kırdar Convention Centre.
As BEBKA, we took our place with our provinces Bursa, Eskişehir and Bilecik, in 2. R&D Innovation Summit and Expo that was organised by Architects & Engineers Group (MMG).
The Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk ÖZLÜ and the Minister of Development participated to the opening of ‘2. R&D Innovation Summit and Expo’. The Minister of Development ELVAN, stated that the number of full-time researchers which is around 20 thousand in 2002 went up to 120 thousand today. He added that we had to reach our target figure of 300 thousand by year 2023. He expressed that via Development Agencies, it was started to establish ‘The Centres of Entrepreneur Support’ and this initiative has been started in the provinces of Erzurum, Malatya, Adana and Mersin.
In the summit, that took big interest from visitors and where the conferences related to R&D and innovation took place, it was targeted to make innovative projects developed by R&D centres, universities, techno parks, development agencies and organised industry zones meet on the same platform. By the exhibition, it was aimed to establish a synergy and interaction among projects and contribute projects to turn into investments and commercialize.
In 2. R&D Innovation Summit and Expo, in BEBKA stand more than 30 R&D projects of universities and other institutions have been presented to the visitors. In the exhibition hall, where the universities and institutions of Bilecik and Eskişehir took place; from Bursa, R&D projects of Uludağ University, Bursa Technical University, ULUTEK Technopark have been presented. In the section of the stand, where Bursa Science and Technology Centre took place, virtual reality and other installed mechanisms vastly attracted the visitors.
On the first day of the summit, the Minister of Development Lütfi ELVAN and The Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk ÖZLÜ visited BEBKA stand and got information about the projects.
