BEBKA Promoted Bursa in Berlin

Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Development Agency (BEBKA) took place in ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin) Fair on dates of 4- 8 March 2015.

ITB Berlin is the leading trade show of the worldwide travel industry has been continuing since 1966 and in 2015 49th ITB Berlin Fair was held. It brought together the most important tourism brands of the world in an area of 160 thousand square meters hosting the tourism professionals on the first three days and public on the last two days.

BEBKA promoted the Bursa- Eskişehir- Bilecik Region to the visitors and tourism professionals. Bursa was promoted in its own stand as well as in the stand allocated for Bursa within the stand of Republic of Turkey which was the largest country stand in ITB Berlin.

On the first day of the fair, the stands of the provinces were visited by Minister of Culture and Tourism and Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Turkey. During the visit, Vice Governor of Bursa Ahmet Hamdi Usta underlined the importance of Bursa with its being inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List and also being the first and the only city from Turkey which is the member of European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA).

During the fair, the promotion brochures together with other promotion materials were distributed to the visitors of the Bursa stand. The live performances of representative characters of Turkish lead characters of the traditional Turkish shadow play Karagöz and Hacivat, that are intangible heritage of Bursa, took place in Bursa stand. Also, bilateral business communications took place during and after fair events.

ITB Berlin hosted more than 11 exhibitors that welcomed more than 170 thousand visitors from around 180 countries in 2015.
